1999 As a small orphanage for elders who has no support from there families we donated our parents residence along with the properties and we established st’ Francis elders home for the orphans. In the beginning there were only 10 members. Within past 10 years it expanded to accommodate over 500 people and most of them have passed away. There are near about 50 elders are accommodating here today and they are maintain by a committee. We are providing there meals, welfare needs and attending to their legal problems.
Most of the people who living here are the innocent parents who has no protection and kindness from there children and relations, There whole life confined to this home. Some of them totally depending on us and our duty.
Most of them are subjected to various diseases. Patients with diabetes, paralysis, mental diseases are Main. This people totally managed by us and we have to take them to hospital most of the time. We don’t have vehicle so we using owner’s private vehicle and government bus service. Near about 8 employers working here to assist patients with daily needs. Also special attendants’ working for the paralysis patients because some of them are unconscious.
This place mainly belongs to roman catholic owners so we have build small church inside the home , and this area church priest coming to offer monthly mass for elders . The Buddhist and Hindu elders also can follow there own religion inside this place.
Annually are organizing a tour for then to develop there physically and mentally status. The psychologically and physically normal and healthy patients are participating for this annual tour around the country.
Also for the Christmas and for special festivals we are organizing special spent the day programs and lunch for them.
All this events organizing and managing by committee, with owner’s private money. Past 10 years we did great service to this people without any help from government and outsiders. But currently with the increasing cost of living we are facing many troubles with maintaining this place.
We have to spend so much money over one person per month. So it’s getting hard for us to manage this orphanage today. There are some innocent elders who have no relations in this world. We can do our best for them if we can get help from people.
also there are so many elders who wants to come here but due to lack of space we are unavailable provide our service to them, we got enough space to built new buildings but we need your kindly help for that new project .
